Beethoven 7/Giuliani
October 19th Izhar Elias will perform Mauro Giuliani’s 2nd concerto (opus 36) together with award winning string quartet PuraCorda (first prize Van Wassenaer Competition, Eemerging ensemble ’23), in de Edesche Concertzaal in Ede.
The other part of the program consists of a historical chamber music version of Beethoven’s 7th symphony, played by PuraCorda plus violist Femke Huizinga.
It is a concert about the relation between Beethoven and Giuliani. Giuliani played the cello during the première of Beethoven’s 7th symphony in Vienna in 1813. One year earlier Giuliani had premiered his duzzling 2nd concerto.
Izhar will play on 2 original early 19th century guitars:
an original Carlo Guadagnini guitar from the time of Giuliani’s 2nd concerto premiere (1812)
and a Georg Stauffer guitar from Vienna, the same kind Giuliani could have been played.

Summer course in France
From June 29th until July 6th guitarists Izhar Elias and Fernando Riscado Cordas will be giving a summer course in the picturesque Bel Any in the village of Any-Martin-Rieux (France).

La Guitaromanie
For a brief period in the early 19th century, the guitar enjoyed a veritable hype. Salons in Paris and Vienna hosted musical soirees where the latest compositions were performed for an intimate audience.
With your help an album can be produced recreating this unique 19th century guitar hype.
Crowdfunding
You can contribute to the world premiere recordings of pieces by guitar virtuosos Molino, Gragnani and Carulli, played on 3 original 19th century guitars by the most famous luthiers of the time. Other rarely heard pieces by Matiegka will be also released on the album.
These pieces are a great discovery. Let’s make it possible to show these treasures to the rest of the world.

Such a characteristic building is central to THE FOLLY.
Is it a temple or the projection of a temple? Which guitarist is real and which is a life-size projection? What am I seeing? Is it real or not? What reality are we actually looking at? Projections on screens, sheets, smoke and bodies. Photo animations play a major role, but when do the photos turn into video or into reality? -
